My last summer vacation to Goa was a memorable one. Though several flights were available from the capital Delhi, I chose to take a train journey from Delhi to Goa. The train journey took a full 24 hours. Even in winter season Goa was pretty warm compared to Delhi. I took  off my sweater  that  I was wearing from Delhi.
After landing at Panaji the capital of Goa I realized how beautiful the town was. Goa is known for some of the finest beaches in the World. The goa is divided into two districts- namely North Goa and South Goa.
As I walked on the by lanes of Goa, I came across some of the most grandeur buildings. I was told by my guide that some of these fascinating buildings were as old as 200 years.
“Goa’s history stretches back to the 3rd century BC when, it formed part of the Mauryan Empire,” my guide explained me the history of the place. I stayed in Goa for three days and doing whatever I liked. I was alone but never got bored as the place had so much to offer – great sea food, lovely hotels, (I chose to stay in a lodge which was much cheaper ) and of course a lot of beer.
Goa’s streets remain isolated during the day but as evening approaches Goa springs to life.
I did not want to come back from such a fascinating place but I had to join back my work. So it was time to say goodbye.
